Frequently asked questions-
No, you do not need a referral to book an appointment. Illinois is a direct access state, which means you can book directly with a physical therapist without a referral from your doctor.
-
The first visit is scheduled for one hour. The session will begin with reviewing your health history, symptoms, and what your treatment goals are. Next, your therapist will guide you through an evaluation, explaining everything as you go. Nothing happens without your consent. By the end of the appointment, you'll have a clear picture of what's going on and then we can discuss a personalized treatment plan. Most people leave their first visit wishing they'd come sooner.

We operate on a self-pay model, but we can bill BCBS PPO plans directly through the end of 2026.* For all other insurance providers, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement. Many patients report receiving partial or full reimbursements.
*Our West Loop location is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans through the remainder of 2026.

Pelvic floor evaluations are personalized to your symptoms and condition. In most cases, we do recommend the internal portion of the exam as it gives your therapist the most complete picture of what's going on. That being said, nothing happens without your full consent, and we can still gain a lot of insight with an external assessment. If you're not comfortable with the internal exam at any point, we'll work within your comfort level.
-
We recommend wearing something you'd wear to the gym — clothes that are comfortable and easy to move in. Our clinic is equipped with a full gym, so your therapist may assess or prescribe movements that are part of your daily life or in line with your treatment goals. If you use any pelvic health tools at home, it can be helpful to bring them with you.
-
Yes, we offer virtual pelvic health sessions for patients anywhere in the US. Virtual care is a full clinical experience, meaning you'll still get a comprehensive evaluation, personalized treatment plan, and dedicated therapist to guide you on your recovery journey.

Every patient is different. Our goal isn't to keep you coming back indefinitely, it's to get you to the best possible outcome in the most efficient way. Most patients see significant progress within 8-12 weeks, but your treatment plan is built around your body and goals, not a predetermined timeline. We'll always be transparent about where you are and what we think you need.
-
Absolutely, and it's never too early to start. Pelvic floor therapy during pregnancy is one of the best things you can do to prepare your body for birth. You don’t have to be in pain or experiencing symptoms to benefit from care, our goal is to prepare you and your body as much as we can before birth.

Yes. Menstruation is not a contraindication for internal work, so there's no need to reschedule. If you're uncomfortable with internal work during this time, there's plenty we can still accomplish during your session.
